e-TASC
Cross curricular online thinking tool
Audience
Key stages 1–5 – cross curricular tool for teachers and students.
Purpose
e-TASC is an online tool that can be used by teachers and learners to think through and solve complex problems. It can be used by any teacher or learner in any subject for independent or collaborative work.
Content
e-TASC provides a framework that helps to develop thinking and problem-solving skills. It is also a useful online multimedia storage tool. e-TASC is divided into eight sections:
- Gather and organise
- Identify
- Generate
- Decide
- Implement
- Evaluate
- Communicate
- Learn from experience
Each section allows you upload text, images, video, audio, documents and links. You can then organise them in different ways, make links between different ideas and rate them in order of importance. Teachers can create a template for a project from which students can develop their own version, allowing the teacher to see their work and add comments.
Notes
This e-resource is based on the principles of TASC – Thinking Actively in a Social Context – devised by Belle Wallace, President of NACE. For further information on TASC go to www.nace.co.uk.
