Scientific enquiry skills for KS3 and KS4
This course combines the theory and principles of effective gifted and talented provision with practical demonstrations of how to apply this in the classroom.
Course outline
- How to create stretch and challenge in the classroom.
- Diagnose and Treat (part 1) – put your student hat on and experience how this ready-made course promotes critical thinking and creativity. You are presented with a set of symptoms – will your team be able to come up with the correct diagnosis?
- How to encourage higher order thinking and questioning.
- Diagnose and Treat (part 2) – develop your team's treatment plan and reflect on the experience.
- Putting it into practice – discuss and plan how you can adapt and implement Diagnose and Treat in your school.
Optional follow-up
Bring your students to a showcase workshop and share findings with other teachers.
